This website is meant to be both informative and educational. You will find many helpful ideas that will both enlighten and strengthen your knowledge of the Spanish language and cultures. The hope is that this further stimulates your love of Spanish, as well as, peninsular and latin cultures.

I graduated from Carleton College where I majored in Spanish and Political Science. While a student at Carleton, I studied for a semester with New York University in Madrid Spain. Prior to College, during my junior year of high school, I spent a year in Costa Rica as American Field Service student. After college, I taught bilingual social studies and history for three years in the New York City Public Schools. I then left teaching for eight years. During this time away from teaching, I went to law school and received my JD. Following law school, I worked in Human Resources of a corporation, traveled, got married and had two wonderful children. I had my seven careers that career counselors talk about. Now, I have  returned to the one I love, working with the next generation of great thinkers!

I taught a semester at St. Olaf, and this is my eighth year at Northfield High School. During the first three years at Northfield I received my Masters of Arts in Teaching at Minnesota State University at Mankato.

I spent the academic years of 2006-2008 with my family living and teaching Sociology, Psychology, and World Issues at Colegio Americano de Guatemala in Guatemala City.

I have traveled extensively in North (visiting all states and provinces except Hawaii), South and Central America as well as Western Europe and Northern Africa.  I have led some great student trips with my colleagues here at Northfield High School to Costa Rica, España and Peru.
