Hello! My name is Katy Schuerman and this is my 20th year of teaching. I taught for Minneapolis Public Schools for eight years and am starting my 12th year in Northfield. All of my teaching has been done in an immersion setting and language education is a passion for me!

 My husband (J.D.) and I have been married for 19 years and our three children are all students in the Northfield district.  Jack is a 10th grader at NHS, Betsy is an 8th grader at NMS and Will is at the Northfield Middle School as a 6th grader.  All three of our children participated in the Compañeros program. I have enjoyed seeing the program from the perspective of a parent as well as from a teacher's perspective. In my free time I like to read, take long walks, travel with my family and take part in my children's activities. I look forward to getting to know you and your child better this year.
