When Should My Child Stay Home From School?

Here are some general guidelines to use:
1) If your child has a fever, they should stay home until they are fever-free for 24 hours. The temperature guideline is 100 degrees or greater is a fever.

2) If your child is vomiting, has an unexplained rash, a persistent cough, or purulent drainage from an infection, they should stay home until they are symptom free for 24 hours or the doctor gives them permission to return to school.

3) When in doubt, call the School Nurse. She can help you decide what is best for your child, and for the children with whom he/she will spend the day.
