College Preparation Exams

PLAN

The PLAN is an assessment tool used to provide feedback to sophomores regarding their preparation for post-secondary education and ideas for career and vocational planning.  It is also a valuable opportunity to see a predicted score for the ACT, a widely used college admissions exam. This assessment is an excellent resource to measure a student's progress and identify areas for growth. The PLAN is typically administered to NHS sophomores in the fall.

PSAT

The PSAT is another assessment tool to provide feedback to juniors regarding their preparation for post-secondary education.  Students  receive a predicted score for the SAT, another widely use college admissions exam.  In addition, PSAT exam scores are used to determine semi-finalists in the National Merit Scholar program. The PSAT is typically administered to NHS juniors in October.  This year's test will be on Wednesday, October 12 at 8:00am.

Advanced Placement Exams

Advanced Placement exams are administered during a two-week period in early May. Students must pay a fee to take these exams and participating colleges and universities may award college credit to students who earn certain scores. For more information, visit the A.P. website at www.collegeboard.com
